Applied Science Level 3

Course Overview

If you are looking to build a learning programme with a strong core of scientific study or looking to progress to higher education or a career in the STEM industry, then Level 3 Applied Science may be the course for you

This course is available to study as an Extended Certificate (60-credit course, equivalent to 1 A Level).

You will study the principles and applications of biology, chemistry and physics, as well as practical scientific procedures and techniques. In addition to those units, you will also have the opportunity to develop your investigation skills with an independent experiment of your choice. There are three examined units and two internally assessed units where students will engage in practical tasks to develop their scientific skills and knowledge.

Our Applied Science course is designed for students who are interested in learning about science alongside other fields of study, with a view to progressing to a wide range of higher education courses and as a pathway to employment. I chose to study at Long Road because it has a friendly working atmosphere. I took the Applied Science Extended Certificate because I wanted to study forensic science. This will help me to pursue my career in radiography
