Student Council

The Student Council gives you the opportunity to have your say and play an active role in shaping college life.

As a member of the Student Council, you’ll work alongside other students and staff to represent the views, ideas and experiences of the student body. You’ll have the opportunity to raise issues that matter to students, share ideas for positive change and help make sure student voices are heard by the Senior Leadership Team.

What does the Student Council do?

Represent student voice

Share students’ ideas, concerns and suggestions.
Bring student feedback to the Senior Leadership Team.
Gather views through surveys, listening campaigns and focus groups.

Organise events and activities

Encourage students to get involved in college life beyond their studies.
Help plan social events, fundraisers and awareness days.
Promote social responsibility and opportunities for students to make a difference.

Improve the college experience

Help staff understand the needs and priorities of students.
Contribute ideas that support a positive learning environment.
Help make small but meaningful changes across college.

Being part of the Student Council

Student Council members are expected to be positive role models and active members of the college community. You’ll work collaboratively with others, communicate clearly and confidently, listen to different perspectives and be open-minded when discussing ideas.
