All students at Long Road Sixth Form College have the opportunity to sign up to the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award Scheme. This is a fantastic way to enjoy new and exciting experiences, develop skills and enhance your UCAS and job applications!

The Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award is part of the enrichment offer available to you as a student at Long Road Sixth Form College. This is a prestigious award that offers you the opportunity to build your confidence, gain new friends and develop skills that will really enhance your university and job applications.

The programme is bespoke to your particular interests, but will include the following core units:

  • Volunteering
  • Physical and skills
  • An expedition
  • A residential

The challenges and experiences of this will offer you the opportunity to develop a range of vital life skills.
