Careers Quality Award

Striving to release potential…

Long Road Sixth Form College is proud of its successful relationship with a broad range of organisations in the local community, a factor recognised by OFSTED, and praised in the recent attainment of the National Careers Quality Award . Whether involved in delivering guest lectures, hosting business tours, or taking part in Careers Events within the college, we value the input that external partners bring to help our students develop an appreciation of the world of work and to help support them with their progression plans. Please click here for a link to the DfE website where you can see data about Destinations of our students.

To enhance these experiences, we seek feedback at all Careers Events from exhibitors and students, so that we can reflect upon best practice for future, similar activities. We are keen to hear what parents think too, with input collected at our annual After Long Road Parent’s Event. In addition, we value approaches by all organisations who would like to engage with us in collaborative work so that our students benefit from vital insights and experiences. This is evident in our partnership work with Career Ready who help students studying Science to experience interactions with employers, both in the workplace, and via masterclasses in college. Similarly, we seek to work with college alumni, reaching out and building strong relationships via our partners at Future First; please click here to visit their website.

If you feel that you would like to contribute to the delivery of our Careers Programme, please do use the links on this website to get in touch and we will endeavour to work with you to enhance our student’s experience.
