I’d like to share an upcoming opportunity being hosted by the Nuclear Institute’s Young Generation Network (YGN). We are running a speaking competition aimed at sixth form and college students (ages 16-18), with the theme of ‘Speak up for Net Zero’ to raise awareness of net-zero targets by 2050 before COP26, which is taking place in Glasgow in November. The YGN would be very grateful if we could ask you to share this with your students.
The 1st stage of the competition is an entry of either a poster, an audio recording or a 250-word summary to answer one of the three questions in the doc attached (the questions can also be found in the YouTube description).
The deadline for the 1st stage has been extended to 30th May, the most creative submissions will be selected to speak on 7th July, with the chance to win an OCULUS quest 2 VR Headset!
A promo video is on YouTube, and all the information is provided on there: COP 26: Speak Up for Net Zero Speaking Competition – YouTube.
The link to sign up is: Young Generation Network COP 26 Speak up for Net Zero Competition (jotform.com) and can be found on the YouTube description too.
The competition is being sponsored by EDF and Urenco so this opportunity would be an interesting addition to a personal statement!
Thank you for your time!
All the best,
The YGN Speak up for Net Zero Team
