Apprenticeship Information Evening 2024

On Wednesday 7th February more than 600 parents, carers, and students attended our Apprenticeship Information Evening, as part of our contribution to National Apprenticeships Week 2024!

Twenty-five employers representing a wide range of sectors including engineering, healthcare, accounting, insurance, estate management, childcare, the armed forces, and many others answered parents and students’ questions about apprenticeships in their industries.  There was a great buzz in the room as employers were quizzed about what opportunities they offered, how apprenticeships worked, where they could lead, and the skills and confidence young people could develop through this pathway.

The event also featured an Introduction to Apprenticeships talk, delivered three times during the evening by Sonal Keshwala from Form the Future, which covered apprenticeship levels and qualifications, pay rates, the balance between work and study, and where to find Apprenticeship vacancies.  She also compared doing an apprenticeship with going to university, highlighting the pros and cons of both options.  You can find a link to Form the Future’s presentation below along with useful websites.
