Long Road Sixth Form College Marks 50 Years of Excellence as Students Celebrate Results Day 2025

Long Road is celebrating a double milestone this summer – the outstanding achievements of its students on Results Day 2025 and the college’s 50th anniversary year. As we look back on five decades of educational excellence, the College is proud to see this year’s cohort continue our tradition of success.

As we celebrate 50 years of inspiring futures, today’s results highlight the continued strength of our community and the bright opportunities ahead for our students. Whether moving on to higher education, apprenticeships, or embarking on their chosen careers, our learners leave with the skills, confidence and ambition to succeed.

Congratulations to the Class of 2025! 

Aron; A*, A*, A*

Huge well done to Aron who has achieved three outstanding A*'s in A Level Maths, Biology and Chemistry! Aron is now heading to the University of Bath where he will be getting a degree in Biochemistry. He has plans to continue his studies to PhD level, focusing on cancer research. 

Special congratulations goes to Aron as he has been awarded this year's Reading List Foundation scholarship! This award recognises an exceptional approach to sixth form study and outstanding achievement. Aron has received £275 Blackwell's book vouchers from the foundation to give a helping hand with the cost of expensive textbooks for the next stage of his academic journey. 

"My favourite thing about Long Road has been the teachers. They are all so supportive and encouraging. Thank you to Shaista, Zoe, Simon and Stephen for always pushing me to do my best."

 

Kiana: A,A,A

A huge congratulations to Kiana who has achieved A,A,A in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology. Kiana is excited to head to Bath to study Psychology!

Reuben: D*, D, M

Huge congratulations to Reuben who has achieved D*, D, M in Level 3 Applied Sport, Music and Psychology! Reuben is now preparing to head off to Nottingham Trent to study Sport and Exercise Science. 

"My favourite thing about Long Road has definitely been meeting new people. All the opportunities the college has offered me as well - like the chance to take part in performances, and also the Histon Scholars Programme. I've like to say thank you to all my teachers for their support."  

 

Logan: A*, A, D*

Congratulations to Logan who has achieved A*, A, D* in Biology, Film and Media! Logan’s next steps will be to Leeds Beckett to study Film Making!

"My favourite thing about Long Road has been feeling more independent and treated like an adult – and also the New York trip! The support from teachers and staff has been incredible, and I feel I've really found a community at Long Road. Being treated like an adult and being in a more informal learning environment helped to build this connection with my peers and teachers really quickly and made me feel confident in my place here. I'd like to thank all my teachers, as well as the media technicians, for making my time here really enjoyable, and helping me develop my skills in my subjects."

 

Keeli: A*, A, B

Congratulations to Keeli on achieving a fantastic A*,A,B in Criminology, Psychology and Sociology! She is taking gap year, adventuring across Italy and Asia, before returning home to study a Psychology degree at Loughborough University. 

"My favourite thing about Long Road has been the independence you are given here as a student, it's so different to being at school. But the teachers are all still available whenever you need them to help - I'd like to say thank you to Alexis, my Sociology teacher, and Lisa, my Progress Coach, for always being there to help me." 

 

Esther: A*, A*, A

Huge congratulations to Esther who has achieved A*, A*, A in A Level English Literature, Media and Film! Esther is now off to the University of York to study English Literature. 

"My favourite thing about Long Road has been the support academically has been absolutely incredible, and there is a real atmosphere in college of success. Throughout the two years, I knew I could go to my teachers with anything I was stuck on, and they have been wonderful every step of the way. I'd like to say a massive thank you to my teachers: Liz, Michael, Naamah and Rachel. You are all amazing!!"

 

 

Theia: A, A, C

Congratulations to Long Road Scholar Theia on achieving A,A,C in A Level Fine Art, Geography and Maths! Theia is now off to study Architecture at the University of York. 

"My favourite thing about Long Road has to have been all the new experiences I’ve had and the people that I’ve met. I would like to thank all of my teachers, my progress coach and all the university application support staff who have all been so encouraging and supportive over the last two years."

 

Jack: DS, D, C

Congratulations to Jack who has achieved a great set of results today with a Distinction in Level 3 Applied Sport, and a D and C in A Level Psychology and A Level Business. He has successfully secured an apprenticeship at Duxford Imperial War Museum as a Conservation Technician. 

"My favourite thing about Long Road, apart from my lessons, has been the social side of college. I've made so many friends and the college itself is really nurturing. I'd like to say thanks to all my teachers, and Kostas my Progress Coach." 


Luca: D, M

Congratulations to Luca on achieving a Distinction in Level 3 Applied Sport and Merit in Level 3 Applied Media! Luca is now spending some time travelling, with his first adventure being to Bali! Once he returns he'll be taking on a Media Apprenticeship. 

"My favourite thing about Long Road has been meeting new people and making loads of new friends. I'd like to say thank you to all my teachers for being so supportive, especially Ash, Sabina and Rob."

Congratulations to Nora who achieved a wonderful A,A,D in Science, IT and Maths! Nora is staying local at ARU to study a degree in Digital Cyber Security and Digital Forensics!

Congratulations to Long Road Scholar Robin who today achieved a wonderful grades in A Level Maths, Further Maths, Physics and DT. 

"My favourite thing about Long Road has been the teachers, they are always willing to bend over backwards to help you. I'd like to thank my parents who have helped me along my journey and my DT teachers: Emma Berry and Owen Sherwood, they have worked so hard... and they took me on an amazing trip to Copenhagen!"

 

Issabella: B,C,C

Congratulations to Issabella on achieving B,C,C in A Level Sociology, History and Photography! She has secured a place at the top choice university - York - and will be studying a degree in Social Policy and Criminal Justice.

Congratulations Boo! Boo achieved D*D*,D* in Level 3 Sport Extended Diploma. Boo will be on the way to Durham University soon, to study Sports Science.

Congratulations to Long Road Scholar Urvisha on receiving her results this morning in A Level Maths, Photography and Sociology.

A huge congratulations to Lennon on achieving A,B,C in Politics, History and English Literature. Lennon is looking forward to the move to Southampton to study Politics.

Well done to Kinza on achieving Distinction, Merit, Merit in the Health and Social Care Diploma and Psychology. Kinza will be going on to study Ecology and Conservation at Anglia Ruskin University.

A huge congratulations to Henry on achieving A*,A*,A,C in Art, History, Religious Studies and EPQ. Henry is moving on to the University of Kent to study Military History and has a long-term career aim of joining the Army Intelligence Corps.

A massive congratulations to Rachel who has achieved A, A, A in Biology, Sociology and Psychology. Rachel’s will soon be off to Kings College London to study Psychology the next step on her journey to a career as a Clinical Psychologist.

Congratulations to Molly on a wonderful set of results, achieving A, B, B in Media, Photography and Art! She has secured a place at Brighton University, and aims to have a career in fashion and business.

A huge congratulations to Georgia who has achieved D*,D*,D* in Level 3 Art and Design Extended Diploma. Georgia is off to Central St Martin’s to study Fine Art!

"My favourite thing about Long Road was the course that I chose and my lessons for this. I’m so pleased I studied the Level 3 Art and Design Extended Diploma which has given me the qualification and skills needed to secure a place at Central St Martin’s. Congratulations to Joseph on achieving A*,A*,A in Biology, Chemistry and Maths. Jospeh is taking a Gap Year to gain some work experience and to take a Personal Trainer course.

Congratulations to Sophie on achieving a triple distinction star in Level 3 Applied Sport! Sophie is now preparing for her next academic steps at the University of East Anglia where she will be studying Physiotherapy, with the aim of being a Physiotherapist in the NHS.
