Sociologists visit Denmark!

In March 2024 the Sociology team took a group of 21 students on a 3-night residential trip to Aarhus, Denmark.

The aim of the visit was to enable students to experience another culture and to enable students to gain understanding of the Danish education system and how it differs to the UK. During the visit students spent a day at the Silkeborg Gymnasium (high school), whose teachers hosted talks on the education system in Denmark, and allowed our students to attend some of their lessons. Students stayed at a hostel in the centre of the city Aarhus. They had plenty of opportunity to explore the city, including a visit to the Aros Aarhus Art Museum, and the botanical gardens.
