Languages students visit UEA

French and Spanish students from the Long Road Sixth Form College MFL Dept. recently took part in a trip to the Languages Dept. at the University of East Anglia (UEA), Norwich.

The students’ language skills were put to the test in an interpretation workshop, and they were also given a lesson in Japanese.  The UEA Languages Team were exceptional hosts and our students were given useful information on possible careers in Languages, which was eye-opening to say the least. Many students hadn’t quite realised the extent to which their skills as linguists could be highly-prized in the workplaces of the future. This trip to UEA was well worth the visit and this group of students are now more aware of potential career paths in Languages than they were previously.

Our sincere thanks to our wonderful hosts at UEA.
