Long Road awarded Employer Engagement of the Year

We are proud to announce that Long Road has been awarded the "Excellence in Employer Engagement" award!
Last week our Careers Team attended Form the Futures annual Garden Party, a celebration of local education, employment, and young people. Long Road was delighted to be awarded ‘Excellence in Employer Engagement’ for its hard work the past year in delivering a varied and extensive careers programme.
The team have worked tirelessly to offer students employer-led challenges, such as the Sookio Creative Challenge and the Ramboll Engineering Challenge. We have taken students on workplace visits that have included Cancer Research UK, University of Cambridge Department of Engineering and Skanska at their new Botanic place development.
Long Road Sixth Form, as a college, understands that academic ability and grades only form a small part of the student experience. Without real-life employer experiences and opportunities to develop transferable skills outside the classroom, they will struggle to fully achieve their potential. By working with employers to deliver these opportunities, we both help students gain valuable skills they will need whilst also meeting the statutory career guidance objectives.
We would like to say thank you to Form the Future for recognising our achievement and for your continued support through work experience offers and employer visits.
