Long Road Students Awarded Prestigious Legal Study Grants

Huge congratulations to Long Road students Jasmine Jones and Yasmin Kociak-Gomes, who were invited to a special celebration event at the Cambridge offices of HCR Law on Monday 22 June 2026, where they each received £1,000 study grants.
The awards are part of the Hewitson Grant scheme, which offers aspiring law students the chance to receive financial support towards a future legal qualification, alongside valuable work experience with HCR Law during their degree.
After being nominated by Long Road, students submitted competitive written applications outlining their passion for law, future ambitions, and the skills and qualities they would bring to the profession.
Following a highly competitive selection process led by Head of HCR Cambridge Natalie Minott and The High Sheriff of Cambridge, five students were shortlisted and awarded £1,000 grants — with Jasmine and Yasmin proudly among them.
Both students were praised for their outstanding applications. Jasmine impressed with her curiosity, initiative and strong work ethic, while Yasmin was recognised for her commitment to extra-curricular activities alongside her studies.
Representatives from HCR Law and the judging panel highlighted just how strong the candidates were, noting how difficult it was to select a final winner.
A fantastic achievement for both students, and a brilliant opportunity to support their future studies and aspirations in law. We look forward to seeing what they go on to achieve next!
