French & Politics Students Discover Paris

The French and Politics departments have recently returned from a trip to Paris with 20 happy students.
Our four-day trip involved a packed schedule which included an intriguing visit to the Louvre, a stunning walking tour of Paris, a sensational climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower, a birds' eye view from Sacré Coeur / Montmartre, and a dip into Les Galleries Lafayette and Notre Dame. We also went to the grand cinema Rex – a stylish Art Deco cinema in which Alfred Hitchcock first premiered the film The Birds.
In between all this, the French students were able to hone their French speaking and writing skills in a very reputable language school and the politics students were given a masterclass by Gavin on art and power and the French Revolution.
The trip was an overriding success. Going to the top of the Eiffel Tower was the crowning moment – many students conquered their fear of heights and were able to achieve personal satisfaction of reaching the top and pushing new boundaries.
