Long Road Alumni named on Forbes 30 under 30!

Modestas graduated from Long Road in 2015 after studying Film Studies A Level and Media Level 3 Diploma. He secured a place to study at the University of Hertfordshire, and following this started a career in Marketing. It was during his time at the University of Hertfordshire that Modestas started Our Culture - now a prominent online arts and culture magazine covering art, literature, film and music.  Modestas told us: "It started as a small music promotion channel on YouTube but slowly shifted to an online magazine. It took a lot of work growing it, networking, finding the right people and searching for gaps that bring in readership."

The magazine now reaches over 3.2 million readers annually, with content focusing on highlighting unknown artists and giving marginalised voices a space in the media landscape. It's no wonder that this work has been recognised by Forbes - Modestas said that upon hearing the news: "It took me a few minutes to realise that I'd been selected. I feel humbled by the news and appreciate the recognition."

Thinking back to his time at Long Road, Modestas said he first chose to study at the college because "I felt at the time it fit me the best. My brother Klaudijus studied at Long Road before me, and he liked it. We’re both creatively focused, so it made sense to go Long Road which has a history of producing talent in the creative fields. I think Long Road elevated my creative mindset. It was the first place that I felt understood creative thinking." His favourite memory? "The basketball courts. But most importantly meeting my wife who I have been with for over 10 years!"

So what are his plans for the future? "I have goals to grow Our Culture and expand with other media publications. I have a project in the background taking shape which will be fully unveiled in 2026 with an exciting team behind it."
