Train Strikes 3 - 7 January 2023

National train strikes will be taking place from Tuesday 3 - Saturday 7 January 2023. Please read below for more information on what to do if your journey to college is impacted.

All Students,

There are a number of train strikes this week, with Thursday likely to be the worst affected day (train drivers union ASLEF are striking that day). College will remain open and operating as normal during these strikes. We went to remote teaching before Xmas because of the combination of strikes and snow. If you cannot attend college, you must report your absence online as normal and put ‘transport’ as the reason. Teachers have been asked to put resources on Teams, but they are not teaching live online lessons on those days. Please contact your teacher if you are missing a lesson and check the Teams pages for resources. Ensure you use your time wisely and work independently on revision and consolidation.

  • External January exams. If you have a January exam (Applied subjects) you must attend the exam on the day, they cannot be moved.

  • Internal Mock exams. These are practice assessments and should be completed when you are back in college during your study periods or Plus Time. Your teacher will set you the paper when you are next in lesson.
