My favourite part of being a Long Road student is the continuous support that I receive from teachers, as this has helped me to focus on my work and start to achieve the grades I want, as I feel comfortable and confident in myself due to their support.
My advice to new Year 1’s is to try and do everything you are capable of early, such as starting revision, homework and attending open days / looking into apprenticeships or employment opportunities. This will make exam season a lot less stressful as you have already done the heavy lifting by making the flashcards' and beginning revision sooner rather than later. It is important not to get burnt out, so ensure what you are completing is only what you are capable of, but starting revision in September so that you have knowledge already consolidated will make exams so much easier.
So far, I have spent my scholarship money on revision materials, as they were essential in achieving the better grades I need for my university course. Too, after receiving my accumulative grades from each overall piece of coursework or exam I sat, I used the scholarship money to treat myself to a dinner or an item I was wanting at the time (sometimes both) as a reward and motivator to continue doing well in future work.
I am working towards my career goal by being in part-time employment, as this has given me the professional interpersonal and communication skills and experience that is required in a clinical psychologist role, in addition to funds that I can save to help me comfortably get through my university course. As well as this, I have used free online courses to further develop my understanding of psychology so that I have a better understanding of the subject.

One of the reasons why I chose to study at Long Road was because they offered the Graphic design course, which I was really interested in trying out and finding out more about the career or what projects a graphic designer would carry. Also, when I went to the open days, the teachers were very nice and the students there were very helpful and very interested in their subjects. Also, Long Road was one of the schools which allowed me to mix my love for science and my creative side, which wasn’t an opportunity in other colleges.
I applied for the Scholars Award because I wanted to contribute to the school. When I was in secondary school, I helped in open evenings and I had lots of fun, so when I saw this opportunity, I thought it was great for me to help year 11s who might want some guidance. Also, I think it’s good to have a voice in your school, and I thought that applying to the scholar’s award would allow me that.I would encourage anyone to apply for the award because you’ve got nothing to lose! A lot of people don’t apply because they think they won’t get in (like me), but I would do it anyways. It’s a good opportunity to get involved with the college, meet new people and help future students, you can learn leadership skills, and get creative with new ideas to help improve the college experience. I haven’t fully decided what I’ll do yet, but I would like to spend it on trips to places like London where I can go to museums or galleries around the graphic design subject. Furthermore, I’d like to save some of it and perhaps use the rest to travel.
I’ve been loving college so far and look forward to learning new things and seeing my friends every day. I’ve met lots of great people who share career ideals or have completely different ones to mine, but everyone is passionate about what they like, which is something I love and feel like Long Road promotes (doing something you are passionate about). Also, something I really like about Long Road, is the lessons. My teachers explain everything really well. I can ask questions if I don’t understand something, but usually, they are engaging lessons and, for example, sciences can be quite content-heavy, but I feel like we do a great balance between theory and practicals, which are always fun.

I chose to study at Long Road after attending my brother’s photography exhibition on campus. I was really entranced by the atmosphere; the students and staff were incredibly friendly, and I liked the independence the college itself had. This made me want to be part of the community, so I put it as my first choice in Year 11!
I applied for the Scholars Award because I want to take an active role in contributing to the community. Although I didn’t attend many clubs in secondary school, I volunteered as a tour guide and loved the experience. The Scholars Award gives me a chance to be more involved in a community, which is something I've never had the opportunity to do before. The Scholars Award offers a challenge that not many will get to experience. Not only does it push you to do your best in GCSEs, but it also encourages you to contribute to your community, which I think is an experience that will be beneficial in the future. I plan to use the scholarship money to support both my studies and hobbies, such as learning resources for Mandarin and painting supplies.
I highly encourage Year 11s to come to Long Road because the support you receive as a student is incredible. The teachers constantly remind you that their door is always open, and they’re always happy to help if you need it. I struggled with motivation in secondary school, but at Long Road I feel inspired to work hard – not just for myself, but for my teachers, who believe I can achieve much more than I think.
My favourite thing about being a Long Road student is how supportive the teachers are. In secondary school, the focus was on your final grades, which was a little demotivating at times because of the pressure. But in Long Road, the focus is on you doing your personal best, and that has made a huge difference in my confidence. I know that if I need any help or resources, my teachers will be happy to provide it to me. I also love the idea of Plus Time and the Friday Quizzes – They really get good practice in for exam-style questions and have contributed so much to my academic progress.

I chose to study at Long Road as I liked the idea of a larger college where I had more independence than my previous secondary school while still being able to ask for help and assistance from teachers. I like the size of the college as it lets you interact with new people and helps you get used to a busy, fast-moving environment which I wasn’t exposed to beforehand. I chose to apply for the Scholars award as I want to be involved in shaping the Long Road community in a positive way and encouraging others to follow with this. I also feel it will help me to develop skills that are beneficial to me and would help my CV stand out to potential universities and employers. I plan to save part of my scholar’s money for potential university costs or to put towards going on a holiday or a gap year with my friends, as I feel this would be a great way to gain more experience of the real world and just be really fun.
I would encourage year 11s who are seeking a good mix of independence and help from others in their learning to come to Long Road. The teachers at Long Road are excellent at being there to give help you may need without being at all overbearing. The college also gives you room for a great work-life balance ensuring you still have time for hobbies and interests outside of college. I would say that the scholar's award helps you develop good life skills such as public speaking and will appeal to businesses and further education places (such as universities) reading your CV. It helps you to have a say in college life and grow the Long Road community. It also comes with money which you can invest into anything that you are interested in. I would say one of my favourite things about Long Road college life is the amount of people and the overall feeling of the students who go to Long Road. It's easy to make new friends, and you can still easily keep older friendships from secondary school.

My favourite thing about being a Long Road student is the balance I have found between independence and support. At Long Road, I have had much more freedom about how I choose to learn, whether that was through choice about note-taking methods or by making my own revision schedule. However, I have never felt unsupported by my teachers or progress coach, especially when it came to my preparation for university in tutorials.
My advice to Year 1 Long Road students is to keep up with revision and homework. It will make your life far easier in the second year if you do. Also, remember to make use of your subject Plus Time to ensure you truly understand the content for your subject. But also make sure to build friendships and enjoy your time in school as it will be a big help if you feel enthusiastic and happy to be here.
I have spent my scholarship money so far on both books and plays for my Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) as well as a subscription to a streaming service for performances of Shakespeare’s plays. I have also been to see numerous performances at the Cambridge Arts Theatre, such as 1984, The History Boys, and a reimagining of Frankenstein. All of which have enriched my education greatly and widened my understanding of performance for my English studies.
At the moment, I am attending different open days to decide which universities to apply to. In school, I am also putting considerable work into improving and maintaining my grades to hopefully improve my chances of receiving offers from my universities of choice. Outside of school I am working to widen my knowledge of general literature, both contemporary and historical. I am hoping this will give me a better starting point in higher education.

My favourite thing about being a Long Road student is all the opportunities I've had that I would not get anywhere else:
- Having a major role in the women's basketball team and competing in a sport I am passionate about (and being able to play this on the daily with the outside basketball court!)
- Joining a range of clubs (basketball, Christian Union, Multicultural Society, Fil-soc etc) where I have met so many inspiring people.
- I have been able to take part in many youth campaigns under the influence of the Youth Social Action Coordinator, Charlotte Smith.
I have taken many opportunities and built experiences that Long Road has directly and indirectly provided to help me work towards my career goal of working in product design or business marketing. I attended many Youths Social Action campaigns and even spoke at the Peterborough Mayoral Campaign about transport issues with young people (on behalf of Long Road and, of course, with the help of Charlotte Smith!). This has allowed me to practice my communication and presentation skills – which can stand out in my personal statement. I have also attended many workshops advertised and hosted by Long Road. For example, the latest Degree Apprenticeship Preparation Programme – giving me extra insight and understanding into this sector. I have also taken part in the Rambol Engineering and the Sookio Marketing Workshop – which has helped me practice my creativity and collaboration skills and just try everything!
To the new Year 1 students, I say, take any opportunity that comes your way – like joining college clubs, helping out with college events etc. This can help build up your personal statement and experiences... and even hopefully allow you to meet amazing people along the way.
With regard to my Scholars' money, I am still saving it up... I don’t know what for, but it will definitely be for something worth it.

My favourite thing about studying at Long Road is that the college offers the perfect balance between creative freedom and academic drive, making it ideal for the subjects I am studying. The atmosphere at Long Road is always so friendly with teachers who are passionate and motivated to help you achieve the grades you need. I knew Long Road could offer me the ideal environment for personal and academic growth, providing me with lovely friends, excellent teachers and a place for me to develop as a person. Long Road has always been a positive and rewarding environment, effectively balancing the social and academic aspects of college, while offering incredible support in both wellbeing and study. I love the opportunity of independence Long Road offers, allowing you to navigate your own education alongside the ongoing support from teachers.
My advice to year 1 students is to use your free periods well while you have the time! Year 2 is very fast-paced, and it is such a relief if you have already prepared revision materials and understood the year 1 content. This allows you to focus on the year 2 content, meaning you can manage time effectively and have the best chance for upcoming A-levels.
I’m currently studying psychology as one of my A-levels, and I’m hoping to continue this through university. To prepare for this, I’ve stayed driven and motivated towards achieving good grades in key assessments, regularly attending psychology visitor talks and taking part in research studies when possible. I have also contributed to my study of psychology through work experience. I conducted a research study at RAF Lakenheath airbase, where I investigated the psychological effects of war on fighter pilots and the help they receive. This was such an exciting experience and allowed me to confirm and develop my desire to continue studying psychology.
I have saved most of the scholarship money to use at university, but I will also put part of it towards driving lessons.

I came to Long Road because I knew it would provide me with valuable life experience, and it has absolutely been the most enriching experience in my life thus far. It has been incredible to meet such a diverse range of people from a huge catchment area studying such a wide range of subjects and having completely diverse interests – an opportunity that would never be available in a school sixth form. I have become truly independent and confident in my day-to-day life from how I approach my studies, juggle commitments and communicate with others. I would not be so prepared for post-18 life without the opportunities Long Road has given me.
To Year 1 students, I would strongly advise you to capitalise on the opportunities here at Long Road. I have completed Gold DofE and the ski trip, as well as taking full advantage of the careers advice and Oxbridge application support. In these spaces I have met some of my closest friends and favourite staff members who I otherwise wouldn’t have crossed paths with in college.
My Scholars' money has contributed to the Ski Trip and Gold DofE expedition – two experiences that have given me incredible memories and I will be forever grateful for!
Sad that my time at Long Road is nearing an end, I am now looking at universities and deciding my next steps. With support from the college, who will aid the development of my personal statement, I hope to study Economics and Politics at one of my 5 choices.

Long Road gives me a lot of freedom and trust with all the free periods we are given. I love it because it gives me the ability to learn and do what I want to, instead of being stuck doing things I have no interest in.
My advice to Year 1 students is to make sure to reach out for support whenever you need it. Teachers and staff love to help students, and it benefits you since you are spending extra time learning with your teachers to improve.
I don’t have a clear path for what's next yet, so I’m using my time to explore as many options as possible to help narrow down what I want and don’t want to do before eventually deciding on a path. I have been saving my Scholars' money for the future in case I go to university or want to pay for a trip abroad somewhere.

My favourite thing about being a Long Road student has been the people I’ve met since joining. I've made loads of new friends and have been lucky enough to have had some amazing experiences with them, such as going on the Psychology trip to Poland in April. It was an amazing trip, and it was a great opportunity to meet new people while travelling to a different country.
My biggest advice to year 1 students is to make use of your free periods. They seem great at the start of the year, but around exams, they definitely become a lot more hectic! My advice would be to use them regularly to catch up with any work you need to do, whether that be homework, class work or revision, as it will really save you time at home and will help you to stay on track throughout the year – that way, you won’t have to massively cram in your revision in the weeks leading up to exams, as you would’ve already been regularly doing it throughout the year. I would also say to just take part in any opportunity that the college provides, whether that be through enrichment or through programmes; sixth form is the perfect place to meet new people and have new experiences, and Long Road is great at providing opportunities that allow you to do so.
So far, I have spent some of my money on the Poland trip and some on driving lessons. I plan on saving the rest of my money for the future, maybe for an end-of-A-Levels trip.
In regard to the future, I’ve been doing lots of research into different sports degrees at multiple universities to try and find the right one for me. I’ve also been to various open days to try and get an idea of where I see myself heading after Long Road. Deciding what to do after sixth form is a massive decision, and so I am just trying to make sure I give myself the best means possible by which to make that decision.

I chose to study at Long Road because of the positive and supportive environment and how it provides a range of different opportunities for us alongside the education. I knew Long Road would help me to develop to the level beyond. Besides, I have always wanted to study in a completely new environment where I can meet new teachers and friends, enhancing my social life.
I would say that my favourite thing about being a student here so far is the great level of independence we were given here, especially the free periods between lessons have ensured me to arrange my free time wisely, taking a higher level of responsibility for my own education. Also, the friendly environment in school and the support that I was given at the start of the year have effectively guided me to settle into the new environment really quickly.
I chose to apply for the Scholars Award as I think it would definitely be a good opportunity for me to enrich my college life as well as different personal skills, such as leadership. I believe this would help me to be more confident. It was also a really big motivation for me to revise and complete my GCSEs to the best I can. Not only this, being a scholar would definitely enhance my CV for universities.
I am planning to save parts of my scholarship money for education and future use, such as university fees, a graduation trip, or to get a driving licence. And I would want to use the remaining part of my scholarship money for my hobbies.
I highly encourage Year 11s to apply to Long Road as the opportunities and support they provide are really helping you to grow both academically and as an individual. There are no worries about feeling exhausted by the transition from GCSE to A-Level; the friendly nature of the school and staff make the transition so much easier and less overwhelming.

One of my favourite aspects of Long Road is that the college offers such a supportive and welcoming environment to study and socialise. The variety of study areas and resources available makes studying much more efficient and creates a much more relaxed approach to learning. The teachers and students are so friendly and always willing to help, which makes the whole experience of college more enjoyable.
My advice to Year 1 students is that they should definitely make the most of their free time and establish a balance between work and a social life. Year 12 is the perfect time to start making revision resources that will save you so much time in Year 13 and make life so much easier when it comes to exam seasons. You should also make sure you ask or seek help if you don’t understand anything on your course.
I am currently planning on using the scholarship money to help fund my dreams of doing Camp America – something I plan to undertake after I finish my A Levels. I am keen to meet new people from across the world and learn about different cultures whilst improving my non-academic skills and am certain Camp America would be a perfect opportunity to do so.
I am focused on developing efficient revision resources as I go through the course for each of my subjects to ensure I can achieve the high grades I am aiming for. I have also been attending university open days and completing my personal statement to advance further with my UCAS application before the deadline.

One of the aspects I value most about being a Long Road student is the supportive and welcoming environment. Transitioning from secondary school to sixth form can feel challenging, but Long Road makes the process much more manageable. The school cultivates a friendly atmosphere that promotes both independence and collaboration. Students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning while knowing that guidance and support are always available when needed. This balance has been instrumental in helping me feel confident and engaged in my studies.
My advice to new students would be to take full advantage of the support offered in the sixth form—there’s a reason it exists. The staff provide exceptional assistance in helping students achieve their goals, whether through academic support or guidance on future pathways. Additionally, make the most of your free periods. They are not just opportunities for downtime; they can also be valuable moments to focus on your work and stay ahead in your studies.
I have primarily used my scholarship funds to support my education, though I have also saved a portion to reward myself. It is important to balance working towards your goals with taking time to appreciate your achievements.
Currently, I am focused on my studies to ensure I achieve the grades required for the sector I wish to enter. My teachers have been invaluable in supporting me, offering guidance and advice that help me stay on track and make informed decisions about my future.

I enjoy the environment at the college. I feel I am allowed to work in a way that works best for me. There are many different clubs and activities. I found they helped me decide what I want to do after college. There is something for everyone. The guidance offered by my progress coaches has been really helpful and encouraging.
I had fun in Year 12, sadly it seemed to end quite soon! My advice is to enjoy your first year as much as you can, and to stay on top of your work. The end of college is closer than it seems and, before long, you’ll be planning your next steps.
I will be using my scholarship money to travel this summer. I hope to visit family and friends in Kenya, South Africa and Botswana.
I am working towards my A-Levels next year, and have applied to study engineering at university. I have done work experience with an engineering firm that provided useful insights into what my job might be one day.

First and foremost, by studying at Long I'd be able to do the subjects I am passionate about and have the support needed to pursue my goals in an environment where I would, importantly, be happy in. During my guidance meeting, I felt comfortable asking questions and felt only good vibes about the idea of going here post-GCSEs, and it became something to look forward to, which is how I knew for sure that I wanted to come here.
There was nothing to lose in applying for the Scholars' Award, so I figured why not? It's a little extra motivation and even if it didn't work out it would be ok either way, so I applied and now here we are. It's a fantastic opportunity and when I eventually apply for university, I can also put it on my personal statement, which is an added bonus. I plan on putting most of it towards university fees but also for travelling and learning opportunities, perhaps some photography equipment – to be honest, I'm not entirely certain, but that's the general gist.
If you're considering Long Road, absolutely apply if you feel it's right for you! I am really enjoying my time here so far and have met so many lovely people. It's a pretty big school compared to my secondary, and I was quite daunted, especially as I didn't know anyone else at first, but it's been wonderful, and I've made lots of friends. So, even if you're a little nervous about it – don't be afraid to take the leap. Besides the worst case scenario, you end up going to somewhere that's right for you anyway. There's no downside! Go for it, it's a bit of extra motivation and a great opportunity! You can put it on your CV and there's nothing to lose in applying, so why not? Don't doubt yourself, keep up the good work and just give it a shot!
My favourite thing about Long Road is probably the freedom – no more uniform, study and free periods, being treated more like an adult – it's a lot less like secondary and a lot more like university, which is great because not only do I find that more enjoyable, it also helps me to prepare for what university will be like. I love my subjects and the teachers are all wonderful – I've learnt so much already, and they are very encouraging. Making mistakes here and there is nothing to be afraid of; it's much more important to just try without the fear of getting the answer wrong because that's how you learn! Everyone is so friendly, and you'll love it here if you choose to come here post GCSEs. So yeah, I love my subjects (choose subjects you love!), the freedom and everything honestly!

Secondary School: Cambourne Village College

I chose Long Road because it felt welcoming and supportive from the moment I visited. The courses matched my interests, and the atmosphere made me feel confident that I could grow both academically and personally here. My favourite thing has been the sense of community. Everyone is approachable, and it’s easy to settle in. I’ve enjoyed having the freedom to study subjects I’m passionate about while feeling genuinely supported.
I chose to apply for the Scholars Award because I wanted to make the most of the opportunities Long Road offers. The award encourages high ambition, and I saw it as a way to push myself academically while also showing my commitment to my studies. I liked the idea of being part of a group of motivated students and gaining experiences that would support my future goals.
I plan to use the scholarship money for resources that support my learning things like textbooks, equipment, and travel for academic events or enrichment activities. Right now, I’m interested in buying a laptop that I think will be extremely useful for my studies. However, I’m also looking into acquiring driving lessons in order to drive to school which will help me gain independence and to save money (instead of relying on public transport).

I chose to study at Long Road, because when I attended the open evening in year 10 I was very appealed by the welcoming and comfortable atmosphere around the college and the kindness of all the teachers and students that I spoke to, and as I further explored the subjects and facilities, I knew it would be the most supportive and nurturing environment for my post-16 studies.
I chose to apply for the Long Road Scholars Award because I think that it is an amazing opportunity to get my voice heard, and I was also encouraged by the Award’s acknowledgement for my academic achievements, which gave me a bigger incentive to aim for the highest possible grades in my GCSE’s. I am planning on spending my scholarship money on supplies and equipment for my Fashion/Textiles course, which will help me to make the most out of my projects and cut back on the mostly high costs of this, and I also am planning to buy a stylus for my touch-screen laptop, which will help me in the design/ photo-shop elements of my Art and also my revision overall.
I would encourage Year 11s to apply to Long Road because I have really enjoyed my first term here, and think that the approach of all the staff and teachers is very successful and welcoming, the overall atmosphere at Long Road is extremely positive and the Progress Coaches and Progress meetings make sure that everyone is supported, and our progress is checked up on regularly so that we never feel stuck or unsupported. I would encourage year 11 students to apply for the Long Road Scholars Award because it is an amazing opportunity to get involved in the Long Road community and the scholarship money is a generous and exciting incentive that also benefits your studies and your overall college experience.
My favourite thing about Long Road so far is how I can balance spending time in my free periods socialising with my friends and peers with doing independent study and catching up with my college work; and the independence this gives me over my daily routine and college life.

Secondary School: Swavesey Village College

I chose to study at Long Road due to the flexibility of the school, enough freedom for independence yet still providing reliable support when needed. This provides me with balance in my academic and personal life as I have enough motivation to work hard without stress and excessive pressure. Alongside this, Long Road gave me the opportunity to study a greater range of subjects which I had not had the chance to experience at secondary school. I believe when applying for sixth form, all students need to reflect on what will be best for them. It is very different to GCSE’s/Secondary School as all experiences are unique and individual. In my opinion, Long Road provides the most balance in comparison to many other Sixth Forms in the area as it encourages an expanded social life but also encourages you to achieve the maximum of YOUR PERSONAL abilities specially tailored to yourself.
I chose to apply for the Scholars' Award because I feel I am an independent individual who is passionate about giving towards my community and those around me. I am confident and feel I am a capable representative and like to exceed beyond my comfort zone. Besides this, it provides me with many leadership opportunities I could not have otherwise, which will significantly benefit me as I begin applying to university as I have unique experiences. I think year 11’s should consider applying for the Scholars Award as it is an amazing opportunity to support you in steps after sixth-form: university, apprenticeships, careers, as it demonstrates strong independence, leadership, and communication skills, which are all necessary skills for your future. Regardless of the role you choose to go down, it will only benefit you. I plan on putting the majority of the money towards a savings account dedicated towards travelling.
My favourite thing about being a Long Road Student so far is the freedom we get. I have the ability to come in and out of school with friends, or stay in different locations, providing me with time to unwind and socialise between lessons - however, I also have places I am able to relax and get work done which helps me stay on track.

When applying for Sixth Forms, I decided to study at Long Road, as it was a college which had been highly recommended to me by family members and friends who had previously attended the school. The support and guidance given to students stood out to me in aspects such as one on one progress meetings, career events, and especially the encouragement to take my education outside of school to external events, including seminars and early networking opportunities.
During my application process, I was informed about the Scholars’ Award – a great opportunity to connect with the community and boost my CV. It offers the chance to be a key part of Long Road in ambassadorial positions, which really helps to develop my personal confidence.
Due to my interest in culture and languages, I have taken Spanish A Level, and with my scholarship, I plan on spending time abroad to enhance my understanding of hispanic society and develop my fluency of the language.
I would encourage Year 11s who are looking for extra steps toward a career and enjoy the extent of their own independence, but also know that the support from teachers and staff is there if you need it. If you are looking for head-start opportunities in future careers, I would also highly recommend Long Road as there are also career guidance meetings and constant events that students are encouraged to attend, which can put you above many others in getting real-life experience.
So far, I am enjoying my time at Long Road, as I have been given a sense of freedom over my own education and have already experienced real world networking events and seminars, meeting people who have given me support in my own future aspirations to do an accountancy degree level apprenticeship. Additionally, there is a great social life at Long Road from free periods and the enrichment opportunities, allowing me to constantly talk to and meet new people at the school who share my interests.

I have really enjoyed the amount of freedom and autonomy students are given at Long Road. Having free periods as part of our timetable helps to build time management and organisation skills while also making school less stressful.
My advice to the new students would be: Sixth Form isn’t as scary as you think! Especially after completing GCSEs, I remember being afraid that I wouldn’t be able to keep up at sixth form. But, the teachers here are really friendly, and there’s an expansive support network, so there’s nothing to worry about.
I am planning to contribute my Scholars' money to paying for an adapted car once I get my licence.

I chose to study at Long Road as their selection of courses fit me perfectly, and it suited my style of learning. I would recommend Long Road as it is a friendly and welcoming environment where teachers really care about how you are doing in your subjects and do their best to support you.
I applied for the Scholars Award as I wanted to show myself that I was worthy of it and I wanted to inspire others to try their best. I would encourage others to apply for the program as it is an enjoyable social and extracurricular experience which helps support your passion.
My favourite thing about Long Road is that teachers are very supportive and understanding. There is also plenty of quiet space to revise and do homework.

So far, my favourite thing about being a Long Road student is the independence in lessons and that there's more flexibility in how I spend my time. I chose to go to Long Road because of the wide range of courses they offer and the great facilities. It is a friendly place that is a nice step up from secondary school.
I chose to apply for the scholar award as I like being involved in school activities and I find that working hard academically is important. It is a very good incentive and will look good when applying for higher education. I plan on spending the money on driving lessons

I chose Long Road because it has a welcoming environment and has an open, green campus as well as offering good academic support and a resourceful careers team. Also, the content in the A-Level courses I wanted to do aligns closely with my interests, making me want to study at Long Road. Long Road is a friendly environment, has supportive teachers and lots of opportunities to explore career interests. For example, there are career fairs, guest talks and many different extracurricular activities.
I applied for the Scholars Award because I wanted to make the most of my time at sixth form and being a Scholar would help me develop certain skills such as presenting. The award also shows ambition and commitment, which is valuable for future applications and my CV. I would say if you’re motivated and want to improve a range of skills (that are good to have as well as look great to universities, employers etc.) and meet more people, then the Scholars award is worth applying for. I plan on spending it on travelling abroad, university resources or driving lessons.
My favourite thing about Long Road so far has been meeting new people, and the opportunities that I can find in and out of college, as well as being able to find out more about different career paths.

My favourite thing about Long Road is the sense of community in all of my lessons and the freedom I get to spend my free periods doing what I’d like to do. I'd really advise new students to make use of plus-time early, and don't leave revision too late!
Currently, I'm working towards my career goals by keeping good grades in key assessments and making sure I keep on top of super curriculars and extra curriculars. I'm saving my scholarship money towards buying a laptop.
