- Thursday 28th June 2018
- Tuesday 10th July 2018
Closing date: Monday 23rd April
What will I do?
You will be able to try out five different subjects, look around the college, eat in the Food Centre and socialise in the Student Centre.
How’s it organised?
You don’t need to wear your school uniform. Arrive at the college at 9am. You will receive a map, a newsletter and your individual programme for the day.
There is a short introductory talk, then you try out three courses in the morning (with a break) and two in the afternoon.
In your lunch break you can buy food from our Food Centre and look around the college.
The day ends at 3.25pm
There will be lots of Long Road students to help you find your way around and answer your questions.
How to book
Cambridge Area Partnership school students
If you attend a Cambridge Area Partnership school, your school will tell you how to book and which date you will attend. You may be asked to use the booking form at the top of this page.
Non-Cambridge Area Partnership students
Please book online using the form at the top of this page. We will send you a confirmation.
How to choose your subjects
Please select seven subjects.
To find out more about each course, and to see what their entry requirements are, visit Courses . There may be some changes before you apply in December 2018/ January 2019, so this information is for guidance only.
Try to choose at least two subjects which you don’t study at present. For most subjects, you don’t need to be taking the GCSE in order to take the A level or Level 3 Diploma, so be adventurous!
We will then allocate five different subjects to you. You will receive your individual programme telling you which subjects you are trying when you arrive for your taster day.
Please note that you can only come on one day!
Here are the available subjects:
- Applied Science
- Design Technology Product Design
- Design Technology: Textiles
- Drama and Theatre

- Health & Social Care
- Musical Theatre
