If you’re aspiring to study at the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford you can join our Oxbridge Preparation programme where you will take part in carefully planned workshops and seminars throughout your first year of study to support you in your application to the UK’s most competitive universities. Being based in Cambridge means that there are a high number of suitable super-curricular activities for students to participate in. For example, the University of Cambridge’s ‘Festival of Ideas’ features lectures from world-leading academics from a wide variety of specialisms. Long Road students are also able to attend lectures from university’s societies, such as the Cambridge University Geography Society (CUGS). We also support and encourage our students to enter various Cambridge and Oxford colleges’ essay competitions; these competitions are a brilliant opportunity to further explore a student’s chosen area of study.
To complement this programme, small seminars are run throughout the year which explores emerging academic areas. These discussions are thought-provoking and give our students interesting material to include in their personal statements. In your second year of study, you will receive one-to-one support from recent Oxbridge alumni when writing your personal statements. If you are successfully selected for an interview you will receive multiple mock interviews with recent Oxford and Cambridge University alumni.
