Are you aged 16-19? Passionate about film?

If so, the BFI Film Academy is for you. This course, held at Long Road Sixth Form College 21-29 October 2017, offers you the chance to be part of our future film industry.

As a student of the Film Academy:

• You will get hands-on filmmaking experience which will help you to develop practical knowledge and skills.

• You can explore your own creativity and passions in a supportive and dynamic environment.

• You will gain invaluable experience working alongside industry professionals who are respected practitioners in their field.

• You will watch a range of cinema from British independent to specialised films.

• You will work towards the Arts Award/ Preparing to Work in the Film Industry qualification

• You will work towards a practical film-based project, either individually or as part of a team.

Once you have completed the course, you will become part of the growing BFI Film Academy alumni network with access to events such as BAFTA career talks.

What’s more, you could also apply for one of our seven intensive residential programmes. Courses last between one and two weeks and are designed to develop more specialist filmmaking skills. You will work closely with leading industry professionals who will give you a unique insight into the filmmaking business and guide you along the way.

How to apply

The dates for the Cambridge BFI Network Academy are Saturday 21st – Sunday 29th October. You will need to be available for the entire academy, and each day will run from 10am-5pm. If you are interested in applying please complete an application form and send it to bfiacademy@longroad.ac.uk

The closing date is 29th September 2017

We welcome applications from talented young filmmakers from all backgrounds. If you think you will struggle to pay the £25 course fee, please still apply – if you have the talent we’ll make sure you can attend.
