Long Road Sixth Form College is perfectly placed, a short walk to the historical city centre of Cambridge and alongside the cutting-edge research of the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. As you explore our green and leafy campus and you’ll soon feel a world away from city life, breathe in the fresh country air and stroll along our woodland walk. With several thousand trees on campus, including a number of rare species such as an Indian bean tree and a giant redwood, we are very wildlife-friendly.
Outside of your classes, you will have the opportunity to explore the world-famous city of Cambridge. Take your time absorbing the beautiful architecture of the city as you visit each of Cambridge Universities 31 colleges where scientific geniuses such as Charles Darwin and Stephen Hawking once lived and studied. Climb the tower of the University of Cambridge Great St Mary’s Church for stunning views of the city centre, before crossing the road where you can visit the iconic King’s College Chapel.
A sunny day is the perfect time to head down to the River Cam where you can go punting. As you travel by boat along the river you will get a unique view of Cambridge University as your guide tells you local stories about the city.
The Cambridge Biomedical Campus borders Long Road Sixth Form College, placing you at the heart of modern scientific research. Historically, Cambridge city has been known for groundbreaking scientific discoveries. This scientific history continues to attract international STEM sector companies such as AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline, Apple, Amazon, ARM and the Wellcome Sanger Institute to Cambridge.
