Homestay and Fees
Accommodation
Long Road Sixth Form offers homestay accommodation in the local area to all of our international students. Homestays are a popular option for international students in the UK as they will help you to learn about British culture and improve your spoken English skills.
Students will be placed within Cambridge or in one of the beautiful countryside villages that surround Cambridge city centre. We always make sure that the journey to college is never too long and is easily accessible by public transport. We will ensure that our hosts are welcoming and that your room is comfortable and equipped with everything you need to transition to life at Long Road. All homestays go through a series of stringent security checks before they can host our students.
Our homestay hosts understand that this may be your first experience of living away from home. They are here to support you and ready to welcome you when you arrive in the UK and help you learn about British culture. For parents, homestays provide an extra level of reassurance of knowing that your child will be well looked after during their time studying in the UK.
Students should email admissions@longroad.ac.uk before booking flights to check the arrival dates for their homestay. Please do not arrive before this date as your accommodation will not be available.
Our Admissions team will arrange for a taxi to meet you on arrival in the UK. This cost will be added to your end of year invoice and a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice is required. The total journey time from London Gatwick Airport (LGW) or London Heathrow Airport (LHR) to Cambridge by taxi is approximately 2 hours.
To arrange airport collection, or for more information on homestay, please email admissions@longroad.ac.uk
