Enriched Curriculum
At Long Road, we believe that to successfully achieve the best academic results you must combine classroom learning with first-hand experiences of the topics you are exploring. That’s why all of our study programmes ensure you have an enriched curriculum full of exciting opportunities that take you outside the classroom.
Using the links and networks of our specialist and experienced staff, we’ll regularly invite business leaders, research scientists, academics and industry experts on-campus to lead tailored workshops and so you can hear unique lectures. These events will give you the rare opportunity to hear current research directly linked to your study programme from industry specialists, enriching your learning and broadening your understanding.
We will also take you off-campus to a range of different locations across the UK and beyond. Every year our A Level Photography students visit the beautiful city of Paris, while our Foundation Art and Design students spend a week in New York City. Our scientists have a close relationship with the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and the University of Cambridge meaning our students are invited to attend tailored workshops at famous laboratories led by scientists and professors at the forefront of cutting-edge research.
Cambridge and Beyond
It’s not just your academic studies that will take you on trips across the United Kingdom. We will organise a bespoke programme, so you can experience the best of what Great Britain has to offer. You will visit the iconic landmarks of Cambridge city centre, such as King's College Chapel and the Cambridge University Botanical Gardens as well as experiencing famous sites across the UK.
London is easily accessible from Cambridge; spend the day exploring Buckingham Place, climb the steps of Tower Bridge and stop to listen to the bell chimes of Big Ben. Take a breath of fresh air as you stroll through the English countryside, visiting ancient sites such as Stonehenge or the famous White Cliffs of Dover. The British monarchy has a rich and exciting history; discover their secrets at sites such as Warwick Castle or Windsor Castle, where the famous royal couple Prince William and Kate Middleton the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were married in 2011. Looking for some time to relax after an exciting schedule of sightseeing? Take a trip to the city of Bath and drink from their famous Roman Bath spa water, enriched with 43 minerals, that has attracted visitors for over 2,000 years.
