Hannah Bicknell is taking Business Studies, English Language and Literature, Sociology and Media Studies at AS level. Hannah chose to study at Long Road “because I was ready for the greater independence of college life, particularly wanted to take the A levels offered by Long Road, and felt that the college had a very friendly atmosphere.”
Hannah is interested in a career in the Media, perhaps as a journalist or editor. “One of my role models is Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada!” The next step will be university, but before that, Hannah is going to make the most of the opportunties available to her at Long Road by writing a feature about her Business Studies course for the college website and the college summer newsletter.
“We were visited by Deloitte, GE (General Electric) and CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), so I will be writing about what they do and what they can offer to young people, including support for university courses. I really enjoy Business Studies. It’s challenging, and there is a lot of work to cover, but we get a lot of help, and the way it is taught makes it possible to cover a lot of ground.”
