Cathy Dunbar from the Strawberry Fair committee set a live brief to our graphic design students to design t-shirts for this years strawberry fair, a festival in Cambridge that attracts over 30,000 visitors each year.
This years theme was love and students were given the task to portray this theme and the atmosphere of strawberry fair using only 3 colours within their design. Gabby Ruiz Castellanos Bannister and Erin Parrish were the overall winners and their t-shirt designs will be sold at battle of the bands events across Cambridgeshire and at the fair itself. Runners up were Emma Hewson, Erin Maher and Zephyr Tillotson Rolland, all first year Graphic Design students.
Cathy Dunbar commented that ‘We really loved them all and it was a difficult choice to make.’ This is an amazing opportunity for the students to get their work used in the real world and work with a real client. The students will also have the opportunity to design a poster for strawberry fair in the coming months.
Congratulations to Gabby and Erin, and a huge well done to all students who entered the competition – we can’t wait to see what designs you create for the Strawberry Fair poster!
