Sport Level 3 Diploma students have been organising events as part of their course. Each team has to organise three events – this is what they chose to do:

Team 1 (top left-hand corner in photo)

Katie Frear, Maddie Foy and Jason Carpenter kicked off with Football Cricket at Long Road. They then went to Swavesey Village College to run Fitness Bingo – pairs of students had bingo cards and had to complete the card as soon as possible. Finally, they’re be back in college running a wheelchair basketball session this week.

Team 2 (top right-hand corner)

George Pitfield, Joe Roberts, Gareth Edwards and (not in photo) Aidan Grindley ran a Football Tennis and Rugby Tennis competition for their class. They then ran the Competition of the Two Sams. We have two Sports teachers called Sam – Sam Grace and Sam Plant – so our team set their classes against each other in an indoor cricket, fitness and dodgeball competition. Sam Plant’s class won. To round off their events, the team are going go-karting at Wildtracks.

Team 3 (bottom right-hand corner)

Joe Swift, Lewis Little, Brad Holcomb and (not in photo) Charlie Tunnell started off with a kickball competition. They then ran a Multi-Sport Bonanza for Year 1 students. Finally, they went to Witchford Village College to run a 5-a-side tournament.

Team 4 (bottom left-hand corner)

Will Savill, Zak Swygart, Luke Gouldstone and Ben Dolman ran dodgeball tournament. They then went to Linton Heights Junior School and ran a problem-solving sporting event with challenges such as putting together photos of celebrities, a maze and sporty noughts and crosses. This was very popular. To close their events, they’re off to Bounce! at Peterborough.
