Sport Level 3 Diploma students organise events

Posted on

Year 2 Level 3 Applied Sports students have been organising events as part of their course.

Heather Rae, Charlotte Gillies, Sophie Pedder and Connor Rose hosted an event for Year 1 Sport students. The Year 1 students all had a great time and all got really stuck in while participating in the multi-activity event. This consisted of kwik cricket, football, rounders and zone ball.

Meanwhile, Sophie Leonard, Ruhed Miah, Lauren Goodyer and Sammy Whittaker went to Linton Heights Junior School. Our students organised a multisport tournament with a tennis station, football station, obstacle course and a team building exercise. Our students worked with two classes of 30 Year 5 children. For the team building exercise there was a cargo net which the children had to go under and retrieve something. The children all thoroughly enjoyed this and would like to do it again. At the football station there were hoops which balls had to be kicked through. All the children were involved at all times, and four Long Road students ran each station.  James Puxley (Headteacher) and Dan Penfold, the PE Teaching Assistant, both gave positive reviews,  and the children spent a lot of time talking about the event afterwards.
