Last week our Level 3 Sports students were lucky enough to visit Anglia Ruskin University for an afternoon of specialist workshops on Sports Therapy and Strength and Conditioning at the ARU Cambridge campus.
Each workshop ran for 1 hour and was led by sports industry experts from the Anglia Ruskin Sports Department. Feedback from our students was outstanding, with all students telling us they really enjoyed the practical nature of the activities and the friendliness and expertise of the ARU staff; they were also amazed that how much they were taught in a short space of time.
The aim of this event was to help Long Road students discover different progression routes into Higher Education; students also received advice on writing personal statements and were told about the different Sports course options offered at ARU – which include specific courses on Strength and Conditioning and Sports Therapy.
Chris Cope, Head of Department, and Ben Hudson, Course Team Leader, both attended the workshops with their students and would like to thank James Johnstone and Andrew Morrison at ARU for the excellent afternoon they organised for our students and hope to build even stronger links with them in the future to make these events a regular occurrence!
