Sociology students head north!

Posted on

Sociology A level students visited Liverpool and Manchester. Dr Karen Legge, Sociology Course Team Leader, runs through their itinerary:

Day 1 – We arrived in Liverpool and visited museums and art galleries at Albert Dock. We also went on the ferry across the Mersey. Team games in the evening.

Day 2 –We visited Belle Vale police station and the custody suite (no pics allowed!) and then went over to Manchester to Manchester Metropolitan university for a talk from a Radio 5 Live news editor, and a visit to Media City, then pizza at Tribeca restaurant followed by quiz night at the halls of residence.

Day 3 – Our next venue was the youth centre in Huyton to hear a talk from a woman who is a case manager for the youth offending service. We then attended the open day at Liverpool John Moores university followed by a tour and a talk about studying sociology and criminology at the University of Liverpool. We rounded off the day with a trip to the Slaughterhouse comedy club.

Day 4 – Back south again!
