‘Seduced by Art’: Photography trip to the National Gallery

Posted on

Photography AS students visited the National Gallery to see a major photography exhibition, ‘Seduced by Art’, which explores the links between photographs and paintings.  The exhibition featured the works of major photographers such as Martin Parr, Craigie Horsfield, Sam Taylor-Wood, Richard Billingham, Julia Margaret Cameron and Gustave Le Gray, with their work displayed alongside key paintings from the National Gallery collection.

The students also had the opportunity to take photographs around Trafalgar Square, and produced some stunning, candid shots which they can use for their coursework.

Mary Weinberger, Photography teacher, comments: “This was an excellent opportunity for our students to view both mid-19th century and contemporary photographs, and to see how photographers use Fine Art to inform their work.”
