Fans of Dragons’ Den will be familiar with Peter Jones CBE – but one former Long Road student, Sallyha Din, has been privileged to study at the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy.*
Sallyha, who studied Art (Digital Mixed Media), Business, Psychology A levels and AS Philosophy at Long Road, only left the College in summer 2012, but has already embarked on an amazing career. “I have my own business in nail art as well as designing clothing and shoes, being a freelance model and dancing for the UK street dance champions HYPNOTICK. I have always had big ambitions, and the one thing I had in mind all the time was ‘success’. My strengths have always been in performing, art and design, and I am using dance, drama, graphics and make- up artistry to propel me into a career in beauty and creativity. When I have an idea, I want to make it happen!
“I was overjoyed to have my entrepreneurial skills both recognised and developed by the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy and was delighted to graduate with a double starred Distinction.
“I have had a lot of backing from many friends and people I’ve worked with, and this has helped me to build the confidence to strive to be all that I can. I have been lucky enough to work alongside celebrities such as entrepreneur James Cann, singer Beverley Knight, Sir Ben Kingsley, Peter André and many more.”
Sallya has had glowing endorsements from many giants of the fashion, make-up and entertainment industries:
Jay Gill, make- up artist: “A great model with the ability to carry off so many different looks!”
Louie Ferré, hair designer and also a former Long Road student: “ A model with integrity”
Ravi Mayar, celebrity magician, ‘pickpocket’ and hypnotist: “Look no further for natural talent and personal attention to perfection. She is magic!”
David Ayeni, graphic designer: “You’ve got all the potential…and you’ll surely go a very long way. Well. the sky they say is the limit. but I think for you…the sky is the beginning.”
Mc Trix, singer in the group Metz and Trix: “She is talented!”
Sallyha aims to be a household name within the fashion industry, but also wishes to pursue her modelling career, with the aim of moving into presenting. With such a vast range of media experience already, she is well on the way to achieving her goals.
“I do what I enjoy – that’s what life’s all about, but I make a living from it. From passion comes the greatness and the unique qualities which make whatever your idea or product is, amazing.”
