An award-winning film, Thrown, about two friends trying to get rid of a chair has been released online for free. Cambridge director Ryd Cook, 26, has released the 13-minute short film to the public for the first time this week. The film follows two friends as they attempt to dispose of the piece of furniture following a family bereavement, only for a chance discovery to prompt a sudden change of heart.
Thrown premiered at Cambridge Film Festival in 2011, and later won Ryd the Best Short Film Director award at Bootleg Film Festival in Toronto, Canada, last year.
Thrown can be seen on Ryd’s website, http://rydcook.com/work_thrown.htm.
