IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL STAFF AND STUDENTS

We have received communication from Addenbrooke’s saying that they are putting in place infection control measures across the hospital site due to high numbers of cases of flu and the winter vomiting virus, currently occurring, which will mean restricting access to the public areas in the hospital as of now.

Addenbrooke’s has requested for staff and students NOT TO VISIT the restaurant or shops in the main concourse from now until further notice. This is an important health notification to help prevent the spread of infection across the site and in the community.

In addition, it has been suggested by Addenbrooke’s that if staff and students would like to visit anyone currently in hospital that they ring through to the ward first as this may affect visitation in certain areas of the hospital.

‘Cambridge University Hospitals are currently experiencing issues with flu and the winter vomiting bug.  We require your assistance in preventing the spread of these infections by not coming on-site to access the restaurant or shops in the main concourse at this current time. This is important to not only prevent the spread of infection in the hospital but also to prevent infection spread to the college and community.’ – Deputy Chief Nurse, Addenbrooke’s.
