Politics students have tea with the Mayor of Cambridge

Posted on

In July all our Politics Year 1 students took over the Guildhall in Cambridge for an afternoon to engage in vigorous political debate. Politics teacher Philippe Harari explains:

Lunch 2“Each of the four Politics classes had created its own political party, and each of the parties’ leaders had to undergo rigorous scrutiny from the other parties to test out their arguments and ideas. Councillor Ross Macpherson chaired the debates, which were lively, controversial and innovative in the range of ideas that were discussed. Councillor Macpherson was most impressed with how well-prepared and well-disciplined in the debating chamber the students were. The winning class was invited to have tea with the Mayor of Cambridge and meet the Cambridge City MP, Daniel Zeichner.”
