Politics students spent a day in the heart of British government with a visit to Parliament, Downing Street and the Supreme Court earlier this year.
During their time at Parliament students had a tour and a question-and-answer session with Cambridge MP Daniel Zeichner. They asked a whole range of questions from Syria to Brexit to engaging young people in politics. They also witnessed debates in the Commons and Lords, and some students bumped into Theresa May!
In the Supreme Court they had a quick tour and heard about some of the key cases of the day including one on the rights of women prisoners.
The visit to No. 10 turned out to be especially interesting as the French Presidential candidate (and now President) Emmanuel Macron was visiting the Prime Minister, so there was a large French crowd, and some students managed to shake his hand.
