In December 2014 we were delighted to be able to report that former student Mollie Andrews, who achieved a triple distinction in her Art Level 3 Diploma in the summer of 2014, had been selected by the Royal Society of British Artists to exhibit her work at the Mall Galleries in London in March 2015.
We are now able to add that Mollie also won one of the Royal Society of British Artists’ (RBA) awards – The Edward Wesson Award for Watercolour Painting for her beautiful watercolour studies of birds and is listed as a prize winner on the RBA website:
Mollie was originally nominated for the Mall Galleries exhibition following an art show in Cambridge Central Library in the summer of 2014. This was staged by the Granta Decorative & Fine Arts Society, in collaboration with Cam DFAS, both of which are members of the National Association of Decorative & Fine Arts Societies, and also featured work by Long Road student Laura Mivel.
Mollie was one of only 22 students across the country to be selected: in all, 370 works of art from 52 societies were nominated, so this is an outstanding achievement.
