Last Wednesday our Med Squad students had the amazing opportunity to be mentored by Cambridge University Medical students. Med Squad is formed of Year 1 and Year 2 students who have chosen medical routes as their progression aims and is organised by Biology Course Team Leader, Paul Andrew.
Paul arranged for two Cambridge University medical students to visit our Med Squad this week to lead two exciting workshops. Our Year 1 Med Squad students had a presentation on what it is really like to be a medical student and become a doctor; giving them the opportunity to ask plenty of questions and gain insider knowledge! Our Year 2 students spent their workshop getting excellent advice and guidance on preparation for their medical interviews and also took the chance to discuss the ethics of treatments.
All of our Year 1 and Year 2 students found the workshops to be really useful in helping them work towards their progression aims and would like to thank both the Cambridge University students for giving up their spare time to come and work with our Med Squad and hope to see them again soon!
