Twenty-five Year 10 students from Manor Community College were put through their paces when they visited the Sports department at Long Road. Long Road Sport National Diploma students worked the Manor students through a demanding range of fitness activities to assess their speed, agility and body fat.
The morning had a serious purpose too – to give the Manor students an insight into the Long Road Sport National Diploma course and show them what Long Road has to offer.
Sam Grace, Sport teacher, says: “It’s great that we have good relations with Manor Community College, and I am very grateful to both the staff and students for taking the time to come and visit us today. We are always interested in working with schools to encourage interest in Sport.”
Dave Evans, Head of Sport and Social Studies, adds: “This is just one of the many activities we will be offering in the run-up to the Olympics. Events such as this are invaluable for developing coaching and leadership skills in our students.”
