On Tuesday 11 February Long Road staff and students attended the first ever Pride at Parliament student tour, marking LGBT History Month and making LGBT History themselves!
The 90-minute tour of the Houses of Parliament covered the working of Parliament, the history of LGBT law and queer MPs and Monarchs. The tour ended with some time in the public gallery watching the Primae MInister Boris Johnson take questions on HS2.
Our students had an amazing day on the tour! Long Road will continue to celebrate LGBT History Month after February half-term with a talk from Dr Catherine Lee on LGBT+ in education on the 24th February, and a workshop on Queer Sexual Health from The Kite Trust on the 26th February!
