We are so disappointed that we are unable to welcome you onto our campus this week following the government’s announcement not to lift final lockdown restrictions until 19th July. We know this was disheartening news for many of you, however, this won’t stop us from giving you the best possible virtual welcome that we can with Long Road Live!
Here on our Long Road Live page, you can find all of the virtual resources that you need to find out more about life as a Long Road student!
Our Long Road Live event is dedicated to introducing you to Long Road life. Our student ambassadors were really looking forward to meeting you this week and telling you all about their experiences of Long Road. Instead of doing this face-to-face, they will be discussing everything you want to know about our Long Road community during our virtual welcome event!
During Long Road Live, you will have the opportunity to ask our student ambassadors questions on everything and anything you want to know about Long Road. Don’t worry – you won’t have to turn your camera or microphone on, all questions will be asked anonymously via our live Q&A chat box function.
Although this isn’t quite the welcome that we had planned for you, we hope that you will still find this an engaging introduction to Long Road Life – we look forward to answering all of your questions!
Couldn’t make our event? Don’t worry, you can watch the recording here…

We know that so many of you are desperate to come and visit us, unfortunately, that isn’t possible right now, but we promise to welcome you on-campus as soon as we are able to! For now, why not take our virtual tour?! Be amazed as you explore our beautiful campus from the safety and comfort of your own home.
Long Road Sixth Form College is perfectly placed, a short walk to the historical city centre of Cambridge and alongside the cutting-edge research of the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
As you explore our green and leafy campus and you’ll soon feel a world away from city life, breathe in the fresh country air and stroll along our woodland walk. With several thousand trees on campus, including a number of rare species such as an Indian bean tree and a giant redwood, we are very wildlife-friendly.
Outside of your classes, you will have the opportunity to explore the world-famous city of Cambridge. The Cambridge Biomedical Campus borders Long Road Sixth Form College, placing you at the heart of modern scientific research. Across our subject departments, Long Road teachers have developed strong links with those working on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, putting Long Road students in the ideal location to learn from the world-leading academics and industry specialist scientists.

One of the most important activities to help prepare you for your studies as a Long Road student is completing the summer work tasks for GCSE English, Level 4 Foundation Art and each of your A Level and Level 3 Applied subjects
Our teachers cannot wait to meet you all, in fact, they are so enthusiastic to start working with you that they have created “Summer Work Explanation Videos” to introduce themselves and help get you started on their summer task activities. You can view these videos at any time by visiting our website or YouTube Channel – don’t forget to subscribe!
If you do find that you have some questions then please don’t hesitate in contacting your Course Team Leader, you will find their contact details at the bottom of the Summer Work page. All Summer Work should be completed and ready to hand in during your first lesson at Long Road.
These activities aren’t here to trip you up or catch you out, they’re designed to give you an extra taste of what you will be learning during your time at Long Road and we hope you have fun completing them!
