“This was a much needed win” Said Coach Pete Charlwood after the game. “The Boys have been working hard in training and showing some improvements in the technical and tactical understanding of the game so it was nice to get some reward for this.”
“Credit to Gateway for their effort today and resilience to stay in the game and in the end they were unlucky not to pinch the win, but from our point of view I’m disappointed that we didn’t put this game to bed earlier and allowed Gateway the opportunity to get back into it. We still have a lot to learn and we need to be more ruthless and efficient on offence, however I was pleased with our defence today.”
Micah Gillings finished top scorer for the Lions producing a double double of 16pts and 11 rebounds whilst B. Rayner continued his solid season with 13 points and 15 Rebounds. Gateway were led by E. Mawomo with 19pts and 12 rebounds and L. Dicaprio who had 18pts and 11 Rebounds.
