At the end of last term, Criminology students were given the opportunity to gain valuable first-hand experience outside the classroom by listening to, and interviewing, ex-offenders on their experiences of the penal system. This conference gave each student an insight into the problems of the criminal justice system currently and linked specifically to offending and types of punishment which students will need to be aware of for their studies.
Course Team Leader, Tom Genillard, said “Long Road students contributed to the day excellently and really got involved in the activities and discussions. It also gave them time to reflect on their own approaches to their everyday lives and will contribute to their current examined unit.”
A really fun and challenging day for everyone involved.
Special thanks to Cambridge Academy for Science and Technology (CAST) for hosting the event in their beautiful lecture theatre.
