Long Road is a large sixth form college situated to the south of the city of Cambridge, adjacent to Addenbrooke’s and the growing Biomedical Campus. We have over 2,200 students aged 16 to 19 from the city, neighbouring areas and across the region. We offer A levels, Level 3 Diplomas (equivalent to A levels), Access to A level courses (GCSEs) and Level 2 Diplomas. We are a high-achieving and inclusive sixth form college which aims to inspire, motivate, and help all students, whatever their entry profile, to achieve more than they ever thought possible.
This voluntary, rewarding role with Long Road Sixth Form College immediately adds a new dimension to your CV and can be a positive step for longer-term career development. The minimum commitment is to read the papers and attend five Corporation evening meetings per year, to participate in the work of one Committee (Audit, Finance, Standards, or Search/HR/Remuneration) with a further 3 or 4 meetings per year, and to take part in governor training.
