James Wright commemorates his great-grandfather

Student James Wright had a special reason for marking Armistice Day today. His great-grandfather, Snowdon John Sutcliffe, who enlisted in 1915, fought at the Somme and was the only one out of 20 men from the Durham Light Infantry to survive the battle. James was proudly wearing his great-grandfather’s General Campaign and Durham Light Infantry medals as the College took part in the two-minute silence.
