Representatives of four community-based faith and belief groups came to Long Road to help us celebrate Inter-Faith and Belief Week. Each religion was allocated a slot at a Faith and Belief stall so that students could find out more about a range of faiths and ask the representatives why their faith is important to them. Over the week Baha’ism, Buddhism, Christianity and Islam were represented. In addition, Muslim Educational Outreach Cambridge took part in a short talk and Q&A session about Islam and the elementary teachings of the faith.
“This was an excellent opportunity for us to celebrate and explore different faiths, ” says Equal Opportunities Co-ordinator Heidi Gjertsen, “and also to reaffirm the College’s commitment to Equality and Diversity.”
