History at Banqueting House to commemorate regicide

Posted on

King Charles I was beheaded outside Banqueting House in Whitehall, London on 30 January 1649. To commemorate the 369th anniversary of the regicide, History A level students visited Banqueting House, which has exhibits about the life – and death – of King Charles.

History A level students, whether taking the German or Russian History option, study the English Civil War (1603-1649) and the Restoration of the Monarchy (1649-1702), so this visit was an excellent way to bring their studies to life.
