Long Road students experienced two distinctive types of rebranding during March 2015. The Stratford urban rebranding trip examined the impact of the 2012 Olympics on the area. The students were able to access the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and analyse and evaluate the impact of the games. They conducted a range of fieldwork including interviewing residents about their perception of the games.
The trip to Thetford and Thetford forest focused on rural rebranding and how successful it had been in the area. The students focused on the heritage-based rebranding in Thetford in the morning and then examined recreational rebranding in the afternoon in Thetford forest. The student feedback for the trips was great, and many of the students will be visiting Barcelona with the Geography team in June 2015.
