TOM HORN INTERVIEWS NICK CLEGG, DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER AND LEADER OF THE LIBERAL DEMOCRATS

Congratulations to former student Tom Horn,  who has just been named Radio Journalist of the Year in the EDF Energy East of England Media Awards. Tom is currently News Editor at Heart Cambridgeshire.

Tom studied A Levels in English Language, Media Studies, Geography and German.

“After leaving Long Road, I spent three years studying for a BA (Hons) in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Leeds. I quickly decided I was passionate about a career in radio news, and so spent spare time and holidays away from university getting work experience and freelance work at local commercial stations and the local BBC station in Leeds. Coupled with my degree, this gave me the experience to apply for work in Broadcast Journalism after leaving university. I picked up my first full time job in radio a few months later, and soon after moved to work for Global Radio – the UK’s largest commercial radio group. I am now the News Editor at Heart in Cambridgeshire, and often read the news on the Heart Network, to Heart stations across the country.”

Tom visited the College again in November 2012 to open the new Student Centre.
