Exam Results 2018

We are very proud of all our diligent students and hardworking teachers who have collectively achieved a great set of results this year.

Many, many of our A levels subjects have achieved a very impressive 100% pass rate: Art, Graphics, Textiles, Chemistry, Creative Writing, Design Technology, Drama, Film, Media, Photography and Spanish to name just a few.

Whether across the arts or sciences, our students have achieved exceptionally well. Biology sustained excellent performance with a 99% pass rate and over 30% high grades A*-B, as did Art Textiles with 55% high grades A*-B and Photography wowed with a stunning 62% high grades A*- B.

We are particularly pleased that our overall A level pass rate has increased this year to 97% despite the very significant challenges of the reformed two year linear A levels. A*- C pass rate is 61%.

Our Level 3 Applied Diploma students also achieved some outstanding successes with 100% pass rates across many courses including Business with 60% of students achieving the highest Double Distinction star D*D* grades; Applied Physics, all our students gained Distinction* or Distinction, as did every student on the Applied Science one year course. Other courses with excellent results were Art & Design, Health and Social Care, Graphics, Media, Photography and Sport.

Our new Criminology course in its first year has performed exceptionally well too with a 99.2% pass rate and 31% achieving A*- B high grades.

Long Road is a welcoming and inclusive sixth form college that values everyone and supports and motivates our students to achieve their very best.
