Students from both English and Business Studies Departments accompanied staff to an insightful and entertaining visit at Cambridge University Press yesterday. The morning trip was action-packed, with a tour of their site (including a fascinating look at their in-house museum!), plus a short Masterclass on how to create an excellent CV.
There was also a carousel of employees who each met with our students to give them a quick insight into the different departments they work in, as well as their career journey within CUP. Finally, a talk by Heidi Mulvey, Head of Community Engagement, encouraged students to make the most out of engagement with employers, including insights into future Apprenticeship opportunities at CUP.
Our students found the day interesting and engaging, with a number commenting upon how it really felt that it helped them to think about their next steps after college. Meanwhile, two students actually arranged to return, one to experience a mock interview, whilst another is now very keen on applying for a future Apprenticeship for the company.
Best of luck to both of our students, and thanks again to CUP.
