Art Foundation student Elena Lockyer met stars at this year’s Lodestar Festival when she was asked to carry out interviews for Cambridge TV (which is a channel on Virgin).
“They wanted someone confident, fun and bubbly – and I seemed to fit the bill! I interviewed bands and soloists on the main stage including Kitten, Razorlight, Sunshine Underground and Rebecca Clement. I had to carry out lots of background research before I spoke to them, chatting about their current work and future releases.
“I work as a steward at The Junction so have great contacts through that. Someone I know works in film production and teamed up with Cambridge TV.
“I’m really enjoying the Art Foundation course – it’s very different from A level work as the emphasis is on what lies behind your work – the experimental and exploratory stages. My focus is on photography and graphics. I am hoping to go to Norwich University of the Arts next year to study Graphic Communications.”
