Drama and Performing Arts students enjoy Frantic workshop
Posted on

Frantic Assembly held an exciting and stimulating workshop for A2 Drama and Level 3 Diploma Performing Arts students. Drama course team leader Sarah Stow reports:
“The idea was to equip our students with some ideas for devising in the typically ‘Frantic’ style, exploring the use of physical interaction, lifts and actual sequences from some of Frantic’s performances. These included The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, which we took our students to see last term.
“The workshop leader was full of energy and enthusiasm and had some of the meekest of students lifting each other, which was wonderful to see! It definitely inspired our students to be braver with experimenting with Physical Theatre techniques, and I hope they will use some of these ideas in their devised projects (they are currently creatively adapting texts – taking them from the ‘page to the stage’ as Frantic did with ‘Curious Incident’). They will be performing these in March, so look out for details.”
